Regular Staff & Instructor Positions

Part-time Museum STEM Instructor The Museum STEM Instructor will design lesson plans and directly facilitate a variety of fun, dynamic STEM-based programs for ages 6-12 at The Children’s Museum in Bloomsburg. Part-time position beginning October 2017. These include after-school and weekend programs such as iMAKE, FIRST Lego League Jr., SPARK Lab, and offsite programs. Top candidate will be a highly motivated educator who “thinks outside of the box” and who is committed to hands-on education and working with children of all abilities.
Requirements: Must have Bachelor’s degree or greater in a related field (i.e. Education, Science, Engineering, Museum Education), and a minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferably with ages 6-12. Comparable teaching experience in lieu of degree will also be considered. Candidate will demonstrate effective classroom management skills and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities teaching STEM concepts. Excellent written and verbal communication required. Candidate will also be flexible and a team player. Must be able to lift 30lbs, bend, twist, and climb stairs. Federal Work Study Students
If you are attending Bloomsburg University (or another nearby institution) and are eligible for Federal Work Study as part of your student financial aid package, contact us about available work study positions. The museum does the most hiring of work study students prior to the start of the semester.
Academic internships are available during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters for university students who are currently enrolled and are seeking academic credit for a professional museum internship experience. Some fields that work well with our internship program are: Art & Art History, Anthropology, Communications/Marketing, Education, Biology, Engineering, and History.
