On Sunday, August 1, 2021, the Bloomsburg Children’s Museum is hosting a battlebot competition that is produced by Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Student Wildcats of Robotic Design (SWORD).
Come see 1-pound and 3-pound combat robots battle it out in intense one-on-one mechanical matchups. While you are there you can also enjoy the Museum, grab some food, score some swag from event sponsor T-Mobile, and try out our kid-friendly battlebots in our small arena!
The competition is open to all ages but is limited to ant weight (one-pound) and beetle weight (three-pound) robots. Admission to the competition is free for spectators and it includes Museum admission. If you have a battlebot and want to compete, you can register it at www.robotcombatevents.com/events/627
All proceeds are being donated to the Bloomsburg Children’s Museum. If you don't have a battlebot but always dreamed of operating one, there will be a novice ring sponsored by Dyco Inc. and FIngertech Robotics where you can try out operating a scaled-down version of the battle bots. Food will be available for purchase on-site.
Doors open at 9 a.m., first fights start at 10:30 a.m. Battles will continue throughout the day until 6 p.m. when the final awards ceremony takes place.

"A wonderful destination for kids of all ages (and their parents). Dozens of wonderful programs, both in-person and virtual. Despite a challenging year due to Covid-19, the Museum has been able to safely reopen. We are so grateful to have a safe and engaging place to play and learn. Kudos to the staff!"Lisa (Review from Facebook)
"We love this educational, hands- on place. Just bought a membership because we love the homeschool hangout events they host twice a month, in addition to many other opportunities. Very friendly, helpful volunteers and Bloom U. students who help staff it. Highly recommend!"Esther (Review from Google)
