Bloomsburg, PA — The Bloomsburg Children’s Museum has received a $5,875 grant from the Susquehanna Valley United Way (SVUW) to support its educational programming for children residing in Columbia, Montour, Union, Snyder, and Northumberland Counties. These programs are offered to the community at low or no cost.

According to Ginny Weibel, Executive Director of the Bloomsburg Children’s Museum, the funding will allow the Museum to expand access to high-quality STEM and arts education opportunities for children across rural Central Pennsylvania.

“This support from the Susquehanna Valley United Way helps us remove barriers for families and ensures that every child—regardless of background—has the opportunity to learn, create, and explore,” said Weibel.

The Museum’s educational outreach program was established in 2019 to increase access to hands-on learning experiences for children in underserved and rural communities. Today, it reaches more than 15 counties through mobile museum programs, field trips, and community partnerships—serving thousands of children each year through engaging STEM, history, and arts-based learning opportunities.

Through collaboration and shared purpose, Susquehanna Valley United Way invested $290,000 this year in 56 local nonprofits advancing its core mission areas: building healthy communities, expanding youth opportunity, strengthening financial security, and increasing community resiliency.
