More Than a Museum
The Bloomsburg Children’s Museum serves as more than a place to visit. We are a learning hub, a career exploration center, a community partner, and a trusted resource for rural families and schools. Through hands-on experiences, we help children discover exactly what is possible.
Although “Bloomsburg” is in our name, our work reaches far beyond one town. We serve children, families, schools, and community partners across a 15-county region, including many rural communities where access to enrichment, STEM education, career exploration, and cultural experiences can be limited.
Our Core Initiatives:
- Interactive Museum Exhibits & Maker Programs
- Mobile STEM Programs & Science Fairs
- Camps & Homeschool Classes
- Accessibility Initiatives
- Partnerships with Libraries, Schools, and Industry
Why We Need a New Museum
Our current building has served our community for over 40 years, but we’ve outgrown it. A new museum will allow us to serve more children, expand programs, and create experiences that inspire for generations to come.
We Have Outgrown Our Space
- 56,000+ annual visitors
- Thousands of students served through field trips
- 15 counties served through mobile programming
- 40+ years of serving families
The New Museum Will Allow Us To:
- Create larger, more interactive exhibits.
- Expand STEAM education.
- Increase accessibility for all visitors.
- Welcome more school groups.
- Host larger community events.
- Develop new educational experiences impossible in our current space.
Imagine What’s Possible
The new Bloomsburg Children’s Museum will be the place where imagination comes to life and learning has no limits.
- Expanded Exhibit Galleries: Interactive exhibits that encourage exploration, creativity, engineering, art, and scientific discovery.
- Larger Classroom Spaces: More camps, workshops, homeschool programs, and school field trips throughout the year.
- Community Gathering Spaces: A destination where families, schools, and community organizations can learn and celebrate together.
- Outdoor Learning Areas: Nature exploration, engineering challenges, sensory play, and environmental education.
Two Ways to Make an Impact
Our hope is that every child who walks through our doors, or meets us through an outreach program in their community, feels seen, capable, curious, and inspired. Your contribution allows us to build and sustain this vision.
- The Endowed Fund: Provides dependable support for the Museum’s mission, ensuring we can sustain our work for future generations.
- The Non-Endowed Expansion Fund: Creates the physical space and resources needed to serve more children, welcome more schools, build stronger exhibits, and connect young people to the skills that shape their futures.
Breaking Down Barriers to Learning
Community giving means recognizing that the future of our region is something we build together. It is about shared responsibility, shared vision, and a shared belief in the potential of our children.
Your generosity directly supports initiatives that ensure cost, transportation, income, zip code, or school district do not prevent a child from participating, including:
- Reimbursed transportation for Title I schools
- Mobile outreach programs that bring learning directly into communities
- Free and discounted admission days & program scholarships
- National initiatives like Museums for All and Blue Star Families
- Institutional memberships and All Abilities Nights
Leave Your Mark on the Future
