Creative Studio: 3-5th Grade
Bi-Weekly | Monday, Tuesday & Thursday | 4:30–5:30 p.m.
Join Miss Chittum from the Southern Columbia Area School District for fun, hands-on art projects designed especially for young artists in 3rd through 5th grade.
Each session introduces a new theme, artistic technique, or medium, giving students the opportunity to build their art skills, experiment with different materials, and express their own creativity.
- August 31–September 3 – Collage: Drawing with Scissors
Put down the pencil and pick up the scissors! Students will explore collage techniques and learn how artists can “draw” with shapes, colors, and cut paper to create unique works of art. - September 14–17 – Watercolor & Color Theory
Dive into the world of color! Students will experiment with watercolor techniques while learning the basics of color theory, including how colors mix, interact, and work together in a piece of art. - September 28–October 1 – Fall Fun-Themed Projects
Celebrate the changing season with creative fall-inspired projects! Students will explore seasonal colors, textures, and imagery while creating artwork inspired by autumn. - October 12–15 – Painting with Tempera
Break out the paintbrushes! Students will learn techniques for working with tempera paint while experimenting with color mixing, brushwork, layering, and more. - October 26–29 – Sugar Skulls
Explore the colorful art and traditions surrounding sugar skulls! Students will create their own vibrant designs while experimenting with symmetry, patterns, shapes, and bold colors.
No previous art experience is needed—just come ready to create, explore, and have fun!
